Luigi’s Restaurant Menu is a concept project that started with the prompt:

“Luigi’s is an Italian restaurant that specializes in Italian and American Fare food. Our restaurant is located near a college campus. Our target audience is young adults ages 18-30. We want our menu to appeal to this younger audience while also having a strong handmade theme throughout.”

To make this menu work, I first started with typesetting. Arranging information clearly from the start not only gave this menu good functionality but allowed the illustrations to pop and complement the categories of food. The thick-lined cartoon style Illustration is very “in” at the moment and helps with the appeal to the young adult audience. Combining this with the hand pressed print look helps tie the two looks together.
